My eager beavers have been champing at the bit to make some improv flying geese. Awesome!

Waiting is hard, but it's coming soon.

I did some extensive traveling this August and did not make a video this month. Luckily, our guild calendar can easily accommodate this.

But since you're all so eager, I'll do you a solid and drop both the improv flying geese and Drunkard's path videos in September. How on earth is it almost September?

While both blocks take a little finesse to get "right", the construction is simple enough that you can quickly make practice blocks until you're happy with the result.

Feeling frisky? Try making some blocks before the video drops. See what happens.

I'll post an update when the next video drops. Thanks for your patience with the volunteers.

    Dear Quilters,

My Temperature Quilt Survey has been open for almost 1 month and it’s going really well!

If you haven’t yet been able to share the information below with your members, there is still time!

The Survey will remain open until mid-September 2024.

If you have already shared this info, THANKS so much! And if you are able to send a reminder to your members, that would be great too.

The survey is very short, but quilters must have made a temperature quilt to participate. 2024 temperature quilts in progress are qualify.

Thanks again for support, it means a lot to me and the research is already providing really interesting results!

I look forward to sharing it with you all.

    Cheers,

    Tracey Clement

There is no easy way to upload the entire email that I got from The National Quilt Museum but one thing caught my eye and if you have a student sewer in your life, you might find it interesting.

School Block Challenge – National Quilt Museum

If you want to just look around their website, it is quiltmuseum.

Hi Gail,A client of my office is a participant in the Restorative Justice Quilting Program at South Central Correctional Center (SCCC) in Licking, Missouri, and has shared with us photos of many of the quilts he has created, as well as the positive impact participation in the program has had in his life.  The program relies upon donated supplies for its existence.  Our office has decided to collect donations for this program to be delivered to SCCC.  A flyer with more information about the program and photos of some of the quilts made in the program is attached.

My office will be collecting donated supplies (quilting fabric, thread, batting, yarn) through October 9, 2024, which we will deliver to SCCC at the completion of the drive.   Useable scraps and partial balls of yarn are welcome.

I will bring bins for collecting donations to the September 14, 2024 STLMQG guild meeting and to SewMe Oct. 4-6, 2024.

Please share this information with the Guild in the next email update.

We appreciate your donations and support!

    Thanks,

    Kristina Starke Olson  (she/her)

TCQ is offering 25% off to any new customer who gets us their quilts by the end of August. Aaaand, if you have used our services in the past and you refer a new customer to us, you'll get a $25 credit.   Here is a link - It's also in the announcement bar on the website so it should be easy to find. I by no means expect you to know or share all the details. The two basic things should get folks interested enough to reach out to us or check out the details.
