Since Buder Library has had plumbing problems, and HVAC improvements, our meeting location will be changing off and on for the next few months.

Our meeting on March 6 will be from 5:00 - 7:30 in the Buder Library second floor quiet room at the northeast corner of the building.

We will try to get the location updated on the events, so please take note.

For those of you that registered and paid for the Kitty Wilkin events, refunds have been issued. They are coming from our payment processor Affinipay and I have no idea how they will show up on your credit card statement. The refunds were issued to the credit card that was originally used.

It may take a day or two, after that if you don't see it in your account, let me know at webdirector@stlmqg.org.

Kitty Wilkins has unfortunately had to cancel her workshops in April due to health reasons. Refunds will be issued to everyone that registered once I am back from Quiltcon.

Stay tuned, the board is looking for other opportunities in April. The monthly meeting may be back on.

    Quilt on!

Under the Member Resources tab, is the link to the Member Forum. If you know of an event or news that you would like to tell the others about or anything actually related to quilting (the forum is monitored), you can create a post and not wait for me to post a News Item.

Every Friday, I send an email out letting everyone know if there is something new.

If you are going to QuiltCon 2024 and have not registered on the attendance event, please do. If you have a quilt in the show, please note it on the registration form. This event/form exists as a way to contact everyone going so that we can coordinate picture taking. There is also talk of getting together for dinner one night.

The goal is to feature photos of people and quilts at QuiltCon on the website.

If you have a vendor table at QC (I will admit, this did not occur to me), please note it on the form also, you can use the quilt field.  I will make it a point to come by and take a picture of your booth.

The form/event can be found here.

I am pondering how best to reach all of you at the show. The website will allow me to email everyone easily enough but I am wondering if a group text would be helpful.

We can also contact each other with the QuiltCon app if you all make sure to enter your contact information.

So far, I know of two quilts and one vendor table with 19 people going.

    Hey all!

We're looking to help out our friends at the Quilts of Valor Foundation. The Mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.

In celebration of their National Sew Day happening on February 3rd, Quilts of Valor is doing a block drive! The purpose of the national block drive is to give individuals or groups a chance to make just a few blocks, so they can be incorporated into a QoV.  These blocks can be incredibly helpful to assist in completing a donated top, or combined with orphan blocks into a fully funcitional QoV.

This year's block is the Ohio Star.

Together with Stars of Honor, our local chapter of QOV, we have made up kits with enough pre-cut fabric to sew together 3 Ohio Star blocks. If you come pick-up one of our kits and return those 3 sewn blocks to Warm N Cozy, we'll enter you in to win a $25 Warm N Cozy Gift Card! You can earn entries for every set of blocks you complete. These fabric kits will be available while supplies last, but all sewn blocks need to be turned back in to Warm N Cozy by Wednesday, Feburary 14th, so please only take what you can complete in that time. Together we can do amazing things!

    Thank you,

    Sadie Neuman

Hello! My name is Emma Darula and I am the marketing director for Wildflower Quilt Co. in Lakeville, MN. I am excited to share that we are hosting a block swap at QuiltCon 2024. The block is called ‘With Love From QuiltCon’ and is a beginner-friendly foundation paper piecing block. The block was designed by local pattern designer Denise Vokoun.

The swap will happen at our booth (226) at QuiltCon. You can make as many blocks as you’d like, bring them to our booth, and we’ll give you new ones. Please leave the foundation paper in the blocks and fill out the information on the back.

The block pattern is available for free on our website. Here is the link: https://www.wildflowerquilts.com/shop/c/p/With-Love-From-QuiltCon-Block-PDF-Pattern-x74849124.htm. We have also created a Facebook group for people to share their block-making progress. If you have any questions, please feel to email me. We hope you’ll join us for this block swap!

    Sincerely,

    Emma

Dear St. Louis Modern Quilt Guild,

Words can not express my joy and appreciation. This project is going to give our Sew What students purpose and drive to help support children experiencing trauma in our community. My heart is full of gratitude knowing that so many people will be positively touched by your generosity.

Each blanket we donate will have a "hand sewn by" tag on it, which will also state materials were made possible for this project by donors who truly care.

I will have our GALACTIC communications team share photos of the blankets in progress and completed on our program's Facebook page. Again, thank you.

    With gratitude,
    Ms. Feazel
